getting error while running startup.bat file

getting error while running startup.bat file

it show's an error

C:\>"C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1\bin\startup.bat"
The JAVA_HOME environment variable is not defined
This environment variable is needed to run this program
Using CATALINA_BASE: C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1
Using CATALINA_HOME: C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1\temp
Using JAVA_HOME:
The system cannot find the file -Djava.endorsed.dirs=.

can any one help me in this matter........

You must have a valid JAVA_HOME environmnet variable set. The steps to do that have been explained in detail on the first page of this tutorial, specifically under the heading "Installing Tomcat 6.0".
